I'm very sorry for your loss.
Well, firstly, I just want to correct something for you. The fact that you didn't need a d&c isn't because you were 5 wks. I was 5-6 wks and needed one. It's how your body reacts to the loss.
It's very normal to not have a period for at least 6 wks after a miscarriage, just like after a healthy full term baby is born. It's even normal to bleed the entire 6 wks. So it's normal that your period isn't here at 28 days. It could still be delayed a few more weeks. Your body has a lot to adjust to and it will work out. It can be as much as 8 wks after the miscarriage, any more than that, I'd give the dr a ring. Good luck.

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I've had 5, and each time my next few periods have been a bit later than the 28 days normally. It takes a while for your body to get back to it's regular cycle, and once I even missed a month entirely.
It is possible to get pregnant before your first period, because you are meant to be more fertile, but if your tests have been negative then it's more likely that you're body just needs a bit more time to normalize. BTW, the reason the OB's tell you to wait is more so that it's easier to date the pregnancy than being about your health (unless you've had a few miscarriages in a row, in which case your body needs to rest).
Good luck TTC, after my 5 I now have a beautiful daughter, so it's worth hanging in there.

No, I didn't have a similar experience, bur my period is so messy, that sometimes I don't know when it is to come. Some months I use 3 pregnancy tests, and I always have the feeling that it's about to come, but it doesn't. So don't freak out. Wait, because your body went through a difficult time and it is recovering. Stay calm and think positively. Everything is going to be all right.

4-6 weeks after miscarriage is when you should expect a period ( up to 8 weeks the latest)...some people get it on the early end and some people on the late end....I had a miscarriage on Aug. 11 and got my period on Sept 21 so I was on the 6 week mark....I know how you feel about wanting to try again...I too have been trying again since Dec..I am sorry for your loss and wish you luck and a healthy baby....Good Luck~

I'm sorry for your loss. After mine it took 2 months for me to get back on track and I found (after the fact) that the more I worried about it the more likely it was that I would skip.
I know it is difficult, but try to relax and let your body get back into sync. Try stop taking pregnancy tests and stop thinking about periods and do something relaxing (for me it would be a massage). This may sound very strange, but the less you think about it the more likely it will happen. Take care and good luck.
