I've carelessly burned myself multiple times and the blister is really common. It should be filled w/ liquid and it should eventually become hard enough to peel off in a few days. But don't do it prematurely otherwise, it won't be completely healed and leave a nasty scar.
But just for future reference, I always run a new burn under cold water, place an ice cube to it and later put toothpaste on it. Aloe Vera actually works as well. It actually helps the blister not be so severe =)

Honey, I've been cooking for many years, ha more than I can remember and anyway, yes I have burned myself. They say it's a sign of a good cook. That makes me feel better anyway.

Yes...I was at someone's house who had a kitchen island and on that kitchen island, they had those stoves that have the flat burners built in. I didn't realize it was on and put my hand flat down on it to see over the island, so my entire body weight was on my hand...I burned the whole palm of my hand! OUCH!

yes i have done this plenty of times. if it happens again you should put it under cold water for at least 10 mins. if it is still painful then there are different burns creams that you can apply. my advice is next time let the woman stay in the kitchen

I singed all the hair off my face and everything that was below my winter cap lighting a bonfire using accelerants. I think that is why they tell you not to.
