Every time you drive his car -- leave the seat forward & change tilt etc, rear view mirror and side mirrors off "his" adjustments, and the tilt of the steering wheel {if it's adjustable}. Radio is too cruel.
Delay laundry, dinner etc. and when he asks -- quote his answer to you when you asked why he didn't put the lid down. "Gee honey, I didn't think it was THAT important -- etc. etc. etc. Don't start a WAR....just sparkle him and repeatedly get the point across.
If he's stubborn and gives multiple excuses: list them on a paper beneath your Ques. of "can't you just put....down?" Then hand him the paper each time
-- copy and send this to his Mom and ask her how she trained his Dad (lol).
Our OLD MAID AUNT had a sign on top of tank reading: "Put the Lid DOWN,
DOWN, DOWN!" (lol_ really

Are we still on that? Out of all the things my husband doesn't do, putting the seat down isn't one of the things I dwell on.

If you put the seat up for him then he might not have even used it and it was still up from you.

actually you are right. it isn't hard at all, therefore you should just do it. I hope your not picking a fight with him over a stupid toilet seat. Save your energy for a bigger argument.
I've been married for five years now and my wife and I take care of each others loose ends. That is, when she forgets to do something I do it for her and she does the same for me. We pick our battles wisely and live pretty at peace.

I agree with you, I am a man, and I never leave the bathroom until I know that the seat is down.

They're too lazy. But on the other hand you should look before you take a seat.

I used to get upset with that too, Now I just let it go.. One less thing to stress over..
And in the future, don't put it up for him.. Not to be a jerk just don't worry about it.

There is your mistake....don't put it up. But seriously have you tried telling him directly how you feel when he doesn't
"care" enough to do this simple thing for you.....Men have to be TOLD exactly what you want and why. they just don't get it, when you say this is annoying or why don't you
