No way and I'd think twice about going back to that restaurant. Ok, they may have just been having a bad day, we all have them, but when you're in a "customer service" type job, you've got to perform well, even fake it - I've done that in a previous job...lol

i think of this certainly relies upon on which area of the provider grow to be crummy. Is it the wait team's fault if some thing is incorrect with the nutrition? No, that's the chef/kitchen's fault. Is it the wait team's fault once you're seated in a nasty section? No, that's the host/ess' fault. Is it the wait team's fault if the guy refilling your water by twist of fate spills it on your head? actually no longer. Is it the wait team's fault in the event that they're impolite or lazy? certainly. If my server is well mannered and attentive, then they consistently get a tip. whether the nutrition and ecosystem are terrible, they have nevertheless performed the activity they're there to do.

Yes, I would leave a tip, but it would 10% instead of 20% that I usually give when I receive good service from an expensive restaurant.

I always leave a tip. Just not a very big one if the waitress is rude or slack. I don't hold something being wrong with the food or taking a long time to get the food against her. She doesn't cook it after all.

It depends..if it's the fault of the kitchen, then yeah, waitress still gets a tip..is it's the waitstaff's fault, then I'd leave a very small tip...generally, I'm a generous tipper!

No, a tip is something you earn. I know everyone says waitresses have bad pay and all, and I am sorry for that..but I'm not going to tip a jerk!

I would still feel obliged to but they wouldn't get nearly as much. The tip would be in direct proportion to the service.
Only fair.

Depending on how "CRUMMY," I probably would still leave something unless it was downright rude. But not much.

I would, but it would be such a ridiculously small amount that it would send the definite message I was not satisfied with the meal.
