There are a couple issues here.
1)Most bettas will see the entire tank as their territory. Once you get out of the 5 gallon range that tends to change.
2)Your betta has been alone in his tank a long time. He may highly aggressive towards other fish.
3)Putting fish into a betta's tank is always a bad idea. (The reverse is better.)
4) 4-5 danios is to many. The betta himself needs 2-3 gallons, and each danio needs 1-2 gallons.
I'd recommend a bottom feeder like a cory cat, ghost shrimp, and/or mystery/apple snail.

Danios tend to be rather fast and frenzied swimmers and I just don't think that 4-5 of them would be happy in a five gallon tank. Since they're schooling fish, you also wouldn't want to cut the numbers. I would also think that they might be a bit too active for the betta, which, if he's like our betta, isn't a fast swimmer. Since the danios are so fast, they would also probably snatch up all the food before the betta could get any.

Usually, betas are regarded as vicious and not freindly. However, they are actually quite peaceful community fish so long as they are not kept with other betas. Betas would do well with other fish, though a zebra danio might be too small and could have a chance of being attacked. You might want to consider getting another tropical fish that is a little bigger, such as a black-skirt tera. They are about 2 inches long compared to the 1 inch long zebra danio. All in all, you should consider adding some fish that are about the same size as your beta.
HOPE THIS HELPED!!!!
P.S. 5 more fish might be pushing the limit just a little. Usually, for tropical fish, a good rule to follow is about 1 gallon of water per inch of fish. This rule can be bent a little, but not to the extremes.

Zebras are a very active fish for a 10 gallon with a Betta. You need something that's not as active. 6 neons would work in a 10 but no more. If you like the shrimp, you could add more. Loaches are also too active and I think they would freak out the Betta. If you do need catfish, 3 miniature cories would be great.....

as other have said this should fine, although you are pushing your limits with the amount your tank can handle so 4 would be best, or get a cheap 10gallon.
however, the only other thing I would worry about is zebra danios are very fast and tend to eat all the food before other fish can eat, so make sure your betta is getting food when you feed them.

They should live together fin. Zebra danios are not major fin nippers. That is crowding the 5 gallon a bit though, you might consider only 4 of them.

I wouldn't do it. Zebras need much more space than a 5 gallon provides. Even though they are small, they are fast swimmers and need lots of swimming room. Since it's only a 5 gallon tank, I would leave it as it is. You might be able to get away with adding 1 or 2 african dwarf frogs.
