What are the different ways to record music over the computer using an acoustic guitar???

I used a 4 track Fostex tape recorder and mixed down to stereo. I used software called Polderbits to record on the computer. All you really need is a microphone, or a pickup in your guitar and a cable to your sound card stereo input on your computer and that Polderbits software or something similar.
