Ohio State has lost to quality opponents, but Wisconsin has beaten quality opponents. Since when do losses count toward rankings over quality wins?

I totally agree. Plus, Wisconsin has two losses, compared to Ohio State's 3 losses (including to Wisconsin). Basically, the writers/voters will never recognize wisconsin as a powerhouse team. I don't think that even if (when) they win the NCAA this year, that they would receive respect. Even in football, when they were winning Rose Bowls, they were never given respect. For some reason the Big 10 only consists of Michigan and Ohio State to these writers. Illinois, Iowa, and Michigan State are in the same situation. They never got the respect when they had winning teams.
I also just read that some writers think that UCLA should jump from 5th (or 7th) to Number 1, because they beat Arizona!!!!
My response to the pollsters: "F**K 'EM BUCKY!!!"

Wisconsin does deserve to be #1. The NCAA needs to give Wisconsin its recognition for a budding athletics powerhouse in all sports not just hockey, but also football and basketball. Wisconsin did beat Ohio St. at home in the Kohl's Center earlier this season. This meeting this week is at Ohio St. and we all know it is very tough to win on the road in the Big 10. I think Wisconsin will be #1 this coming week but next Saturday's game between the two teams will decide who will be the outright number one. Essentially this week's ranking will not mean a whole lot. But next week's will mean a #1 seed versus a #2 seed in the tournament. And lets face it the NCAA tournament committee is not going to stick its neck out for two Big 10 teams to make it as a #1 especially with big bad Ohio St.i n the conversation. As an example if Duke or any of the other perennial "blue bloods" of the ACC and North Carolina were to go into as a possible #1 seed the tournament committee would waste no time arguing that both those should go into the tournament as a one seed. I can't wait to see if the NCAA will finally give the Big 10 recognition and let two #1 seeds from the Big 10 into the tournament.

Personally, I like the Badgers, but the Polls put Ohio State above Wisconsin. This shouldnt be like this. But I guess Id rather care what Wisconsin is ranked at the end of the season than now. Just cuz Oden and Conley...Thats the only reason Ohio State is ranked higher,

I still dont think that Ohio State deserves the #1 ranking because Florida is still better than them. Even if Florida gets knocked out of the #1 seed I think Wisconscin should get it because they are on a row. The only way I would give Ohio State the #1 ranking is if they played Florida all over and beat them really bad.

sure give it to them, do you think wisconsin cares if they are 2 or 3, these rankings mean nothing, they still have the big ten tourney and the the madness begins, wisconsin is concerned more with the big picture

what you said is true, but realize these 3 things:
1. ohio state beat indiana, wisconsin lost to them
2. ohio state's losses came to florida, unc, and wisconsin, while wisconsin's came to missouri st. and indiana
3. wisconsin's win came at home, where they are undefeated
