Great question.
Capitalism creates more disparity in wealth, but thats only because everyone is poor under socialism (except of course for the few well connected bureaucrats)
Edit: Are these people serious? A perfect middle class where everyone is equal? People should be paid based on their need, not their work?!? I guess it would be nice to be young and ignorant again, but hopefully I didn't look this foolish!
Edit: Wow, alot of Socialist supporters! At least I don't have to defend my system's countless failures. (U.S.S.R, East Germany, North Korea, Vietnam, pre-Capitalist China, etc, etc, etc)
enlightenment- 100% wealthy? Is Cuba wealthy? What about "pick a South American country"? Try again.

Every one being poor with a select few having wealth is the result of Socialism. China and The former Soviet Union are prime examples. Capitalism allows for more people to be wealthy. There is no system that eliminates poverty. History has shown that there will always be a schism between classes.

NONE of the above man
Capitalism- there will always be the extremely rich, the middle class and the impoverished
Socialism- A perfect middle class in which no one is superior to the other, everyone is equal and has the rights to health care and a free education
i'll take socialism, thanks
lets see how many thumbs down ill get with the brainwashed asswipes
the main reason for it not working out in russia is becuz of russia had many internal conflicts as well as exterior, it was in the cold war. Socialism is a dream and i think now in the 21st century it should start to be implied and it is in latin america
And what people have to understand about socialism or communism is that it doesnt eliminate trade, at all, under socialism everything belongs to the government and they make sure that it is distributed equally unlike in capitalism in which a few powerful rich people control everything and abuse the working middle class and poor class
it has worked wonderfully in cuba and its starting to work in china
Hey, and i dont see how Russia has been better after socialism was taken out, a democracy has done nothing in russia, everyone is practicallly starving to death and living in extreme poverty

Everybody isn't equal. I certainly didn't work my *** off with two jobs to pay for college so that I can make the same amount of money as someone who's not qualified to work the drive thru at McDonalds. When a person proves he/she can work hard and make something of his/herself then we'll be equal, until then, they can enjoy minimum wage and be thankful for it.

Every person should use their talents and abilities that they were given at birth. Wealth does not make one happy....that's very evident by the suicidal, crazy acting, depressed, immoral people who have all that money and are so maladjusted.
I lilke to go by 'give us this day our daily bread'. I want enough not to become bitter and envious and not enough to start to believe I am my own god.

Capitalism - 10% wealthy.
90% serving those who are wealthy.

The better choice would be everyone equal and paid based on their need not their work (or luck).
