To make th esun of a solar system, get a styrofoam ball from a craft store or Wal-mart. (get one that is a little bit larger than the rest of the 'planets') then paint it orange..then buy some orange yellow and red tissue paper and cut it up in to squares that are about 2 inches by 2 inces. srunch up the squares individualy to form a loose balls of tissue paper. then use some tacky glue (also available at a craft store or Wal-mart) to glue the balls on side by side. this gives teh illusion of fire...it will look great and will deserve am A+.

Go to a local craft store. They should carry Styrofoam spheres. We bought one @ Michael's Craft Store ( new England store) for our son's planet project. Then buy some paint, like orange and yellow, VIOLA! You have a sun.
These stores are accustomed to having project supplies.
Good Luck
