Considering that there are 12 players on each roster, and there are 30 teams, that leaves you with only 360 possible NBA players
in the entire world. That makes for a pretty exclusive club!

While it is hard , i dont think people realize how hard it is. A far better ? would be how hard is it to get into a college that would give you a possible chance of getting into the nba, not to say that if you go to a division 3 school you cant make it bc you can, but the odds are out of this world. Colleges are given between 2-5 scholarships, you have to be an elite to receive one. But adults are polluting the young kids minds, and some kids think that all there is for them is the nba, so once they think they are good they have their minds set that -hey im going to the nba-not all kids but a lot that i know.

Yeah it is extremely hard to make the NBA. Although depending on your size, some players may have an easier time. For example, if your a 7 footer your skills don't have to be as solid as a 6-2 guards. But, you still need to standout in D1 and play for a good school. Also team rosters aren't as large as rosters for Baseball and Football teams, mean that your chances are even more slim. Other countries are producing good basketball players, as a result there is less open roster space for U.S. players.

There are 334 college division 1 schools with about 15 players per team. You are now at 5010 people and at any given moment only 410 players are in the NBA. Not to mention the rise in foreign players getting drafted. In other words you have 8% chance to make it from college not including foreign players which would then put you around 5%. Then, you have to be good enough to stay...

It's pretty much impossible. You'd pretty much have to get a scholarship to play at a D1 school and then be a star on your team.
So hit the books, lol.
