Press F8 when your computer is booting up (before you see the windows screen). Then select Safe Mode and see if it will boot that way.

You can also try disconnecting your internet and then try the above.

Safe Mode may get you into your computer where you can run your antivirus and fix the problem.

Hi Trendina!
I've just got back from my daughter's and she had exactly the same problem: a boot virus! I presume you're not getting any further than the Windows start up screen when your computer decides to restart?! The bad news is that trying to load from your last good configuration won't work because the virus is in the boot sector of your computer. What you need to do is get the computer's settings back to its original factory settings, which can be quite complicated!
I'm gonna suggest you go to this site http://www.mbusbyuk.info and drop Mike an e-mail about your situation. (I've contacted him and he says it's okay). I'm suggesting this in case your limited time for an answer runs out on Yahoo! Answers.
Good Luck!

You should probably go to circuit city and have the geek squad look at it. Since I am not there, I can't really see whats wrong so I can't give you a straight-forward answer. Alternatively, you could try reinstalling windows with your windows CD. This is relatively easy and doesn't cost anything. The setup provides step-by-step prompts. All you have to do is click OK a few times.

Boot into Safe mode.

You should download the latest definitions on a seperate computer and copy them to the infected computer (using a usb drive/cdrom) You may also consider downloading lavasoft - good tool to remove spyware.

Update the virus definitions.

Then run your anti-virus tools. Run lavasoft.

Hope this helps

Run your recovery disc and erase everything usually found in the advanced options in your recovery selection.

Two if your pc has no disc it is probably built in try turning it on and pushing the f10 and f11 keys to see if it brings up the built in recovery discs then run that and you will be back starting from scratch but your pc will work

(1) If you have not already scanned your comp with spybot do that now .Update it and then run it so it gets rid of all the spyware and trojans in safe mode
(2) Do an online virus scan to check if you still have any other viruses in your computer. And let us know if the online virus scan still finds any virus or spyware .

hold down f8 and see if you can boot into safe mode. You may be able to fix it from there. If you can, you might want to start backing up your files.

Then I would format the drive and reinstall windows.

Pull the hard drive and put it in a friends computer as a slave drive. The friend better have high quality anti-virus and anti-spy-ware on their machine! Good luck! ;-)=
