I'd say ignorance, because there is so much of it in america that people forget where they come from.

I tend to agree about ignorance, but reducing that comes from a better level of education. What would really improve america though, is to get rid of all the insular views of so many americans. If people in america stopped worrying about themselves all the time, and what was in it for them, and started looking at the broader picture, then maybe americans will start to help each other more. That way they can do something about the poverty and lack of services within their own country.
