what a crock of crap...many people work with bipolar disease, with the right med's so can Jim...sounds to me like hes just very dependent on Momma...
If he can't get a Dr. to vouch for his disease & qualify for a pension or disability payments then he needs to get back into society & be a man..

Dude, i have bipolar, i'm on meds...
no excuse to live at home and be leach, and not work...
He's using it as a crutch...
No, it wouldn't be cruel... it would be the best thing for him...
So, he's worried about his disease... he needs to see a psychologist/psychiatrist reg and take his meds faithfully. Yeah, he's gonna have his ups and downs and it's hard, but it's no excuse...
And, his employers have no reason to know that he has bipolar, seriously... sounds like a free ride to me.
He should go back to college... it would be good for him.

no it would not and bipolar can be put into remission. he can draw SSI and pay his own things. I have it and I work everyday. granted some days are very hard and have lost a few jobs due to it but I get by. Also if he tells the job he has this disease then they have to cater to what he needs. most ppl don't tell employers they have it, so they can't hold it against them but even if you don't and tell them later, they cannot discriminate against you. I think that mommy has been there all this time and it is easier for her to pay then him to work. no this is not normal.

Yes, because that's she's created a dependency in Jim that she'll have to slowly ween him off from. Even though he may suffer from depression that's no excuse for him not to work. Maybe a good job is what he needs. Plus, why is he driving if he's that depressed?
