I am talking about people who have not been there, have not spent any significant time around islamic people, don't know about all of the islamic violence around the world, but keep griping that we need to have our troops leave the middle east.

People are just expressing their opinions, based on all the news coverage, family and friends who are and have served there, multiple times, etc., etc..
As for WHY people think they CAN comment on such endeavors, is because our soldiers have fought for decades for the rest of us to have the freedom and free-will to do so.
How do YOU know what others experiences are to begin with? Many who comment have been inside a war, and DO understand, others perceive with they re own interpretations, from what they've learned and experienced. We ALL have that right to comment on what we believe from our own perspectives.

I say that we need to get the hell out of there because I've done three tours. Two in Afghanistan and one in Iraq. I know what it's like. I know what's happening and I know there's not a chance of winning this fight. Have you been there yet?

I think if someone asks for help, and you are able to help, you have a duty to yourself to do it. And if your not willing to put your life at risk for this cause you shouldn't be in the service. And if they don't want your help, butt out. But it's been my impression that as a country they are asking for our help.
Just my opinion. I hope I didn't offend anyone.

Because, like it or not....we have free speech. We have the right to say what we think and how we feel.
