Is it just me, or is that game kind of a downer?

I havent played it for years, but I was cleaning out a closet the other day and found it and decided to play it for old times sake. My god that game is depressing. Don't get me wrong, I love it and its good and fun and well made but its about the darkest thing ever. The music is what gets me. Theres always depressing music. There are like two pieices that arent completely depressing. And the story is depressing. I know what happens already and its not even the girl that gets stabbed its more the guy. he's been through so much s*it and has so many mental problems. but its the music mostly. seriously, i played it right before i went to bed and it was at the really depressing part in the begiinnig where it goes back and the bad guy burns up his town and I was so depressed I couldnt sleep. i had to walk around and watch tv just to get back to normal. and i'm not wierd about this kind of stuff either, just this music really gets to me

Yes, It's a number one seller! Worth a lot of money too! You want to talk about a depressing game try playing Lufia for SNES. That's worst the main people die at the end.

Thats what makes a story so good. The real emotions found in our lives. The music emphasizes the emotions found in the game. Final Fantasy games can have very emotional plot. If you ever played and beat Final Fantasy 10, you know how it ends. Tidus disappears into oblivion, with Auron and Jecht, leaving Yuna after telling him that she loved him. It was sad, but led to the awsome sequal that is Final Fantasy 10-2.

Yes, the game can be quite depressing in some places, especially some of the music. The "Pure Heart" theme song is at its most depressive state in the underground place of the Forgotten Capital.

Suffice to say, anything involved ShinRa usually end up miserable, and pretty much most things on the planet were involved with ShinRa.

And yes, Cloud pretty much have gone through a lot of nasty things (like seeing his mother died, seeing Zack died, seeing Aerith died, etc). Though one wonder one on why Vincent was the dark one.

As for non depressive stuff.

There are several places where things are usually quite cheerful, like: Honey Bee Inn, Chocobo Farm, Costa del Sol, Gold Saucer, Wutai, and so on.

There are several music are usually quite cheerful: Honey Bee Inn's, Yuffie's, Caith Sith's, Costa del Sol's, Gold Saucer's, Junon celebrate the coming of Rufus', and so on.

thats what made the game so good. anything that can bring out emotions like that is well made. and i dont think you are weird, you are human. its only normal to feel bad when you are taken in by a sad story. games like this are few and far between. be glad you still have this game. i sold mine years ago and i regretted it ever since.

My PS3 performs each and each and every of the PS1 video games I initially had, besides the undeniable fact that none of them were very last myth. i understand that it wont play burnt copies of any PS1 video games besides the undeniable fact that. Sorry if that wasn't any help.
