Ive just come back from the big apple 3 days ago, and personally, i love it. just wondered if anyone else had the same views as me and i would love to know why, if you do, hate it.
The reasons i love it so much, is central park. it is the reason for going there, its beautiful. also, there are not as many rude people as a lot of tv programs try to make out. people are definatly a lot more hostile in england. i love america as a country to visit and id like to thank every one at the wolcott hotel for making our school trip more like a holiday!!!
thanks for looking guys!!!! xxxxx

NEW YORK IS FANTASTIC
true central park is beautiful, when i went, the pond/lake was frozen and it was snowing. it is a truly wonderful city. the people are so friendly and they all want to help you and make your stay in New York the best ever. can u ever imagine the police officers or the guards at harrods posing for photographs-methinks not.
there are rude people of course but you never meet them in america, everyone is so friendly and kind, they dont pressure you into buying anything either. i also stayed in the hotel wolcott when i went-did you find that it gave you electric shocks?
i asked someone about it and they said its all to do with New York using so much electricity - OMG thats another truly fab thing lol-they dont need street lamps because of all the advertisements. they are all really colourful.
did you see the watermelon chewing gum advert on the wall. its opposite bubba gumps (the restaurent) its a fab advert-hilariously funny!!!
there are so many different cultures out there but all are proud to be New Yorkers! did you pop down to china town? they had a whole window full of lobsters and crabs! sure it did look absolutly gross but i cant beleive that all that is a stonesthrow away from bloomingdales. who would believe it????
did you visit the friends building at all? you really wouldnt guess that its there as it looks nothing like it. dont you think its amazing how you can have so many landmarks and famous places in one city.
i happened to go to Staton island when it was snowing but i could still see that amazing skyline on the way back. a great city-
hope you had a great time- i sure did

Like it very much. I went there about a year ago and had a really enjoyable few days in the Big Apple. I strolled through Central Park on a glorious spring afternoon thinking; " I could be at work now doing some kind of odd job, but no, I am actually in New York, with landmarks which are icons of the modern world. "
It's famous, fun and vibrant, yet also has areas of glorious urban peace. Another thing I really like about cities suchas NYC is that they are 'patchworls' of neighbourhoods. Stroll a few blocks in a particular direction and you can be in a completely different sociological and demographic set up.
I went 'from South Street to 125th' (re-enacting a Will Smith lyric as I did so) and took in finance, Chinatown, Little Italy, Jewish Lower East Side, bohemian Greenwich Village, artsy Chelsea, the skyscrapers of Midtown, shopping in Fifth Avenue, peace and cherry-blossom tranquility in Central Park, the 'unbuttoned vibe' of thelovely Upper West Side, and the distinctive Afro-Americanisms of Harlem. That is New York in a nutshell.
Living in such a pulsating cosmopolitan world city, New Yorkers also have fantastic art, design, facilities, entertainments and intellect so there is never a dull moment in this city; and it has a history and immigrant-rooted culture which ensure a really distinctive personality.
Zurich it ain't!

I adore NY!!! I went in January this year and for Xmas 2004. To me it is one of the most vibrant, cultural, mixed up, mad making, noisey, stunning places on earth. I love the buzz of it all. But mostly I am a huge movie fan and have grown up watching certain buildings appear in loads of films. It was always my dream to go to NY and my hubbie thought I would be disappointed, but when we arrived for the first time on Xmas Eve and went to the Rockerfeller Centre I was just blown away. It was everything and more that I dreamed of! It just fufills everything that you want, shopping, stunning buildings, amazing views, big bright yellow taxi's and it's half the cost of the UK. Plus I don't mind tipping when I get good service. In the UK the service is never that brilliant. In the US it's always really good. We were on honeymoon in Cape Cod a few years ago and we ordered lobster, but they had run out, I was really upset as it was our last night and a treat, so they ran out and bought some from another restaurant for us!!! To me that is what the US and NY is all about: Everything is possible!

before everything, i'm a Pittsburgher, and the Pirates rake in lots money and don't use it. it incredibly is why I hate them, yet no longer why I hate the Yankees. Jealousy has no longer something to do with it. I hate the Yankees for 2 substantial motives. the whole procuring-out gamers element is the main one. i understand human beings ought to argue that the Yankees are not "the only crew to do it" and question me "why would not they considering that they have the money to?" besides the undeniable fact that this is basically the ethics of all of it to me. The Yankees are the epitome of an evil-empire. i think of a crew like the manhattan Yankees, a powerhouse of income, shouldn't settle for a financial income over all human beings in the league. A crew being able to OVERpay gamers just to stay away from different communities from getting that participant is sickening to me. I understand baseball will by no potential institute a income-cap besides, so all i will relatively do is hate the Yankees. 2nd reason, i'm a die-annoying hockey fan, and hate the Yankees simply by fact they're continuously neck-and-neck with the Montreal Canadiens for entire titles. and that i choose for hockey to reign splendid. this is a very biased perspective, i understand, besides the undeniable fact that this is just one extra clarification why I hate the Yankees, and the main reason i admire the Canadiens.

I didn't like it. My bags were searched upon entering shops. Tourists everywhere. Cars beeping furiously. Silly accents. Over friendly people, I like to go about my business privately. Slack standards on everything. Can't eat without tipping. I love England!

As I live in Boston, I like visiting New York for only a day or two at a time. I find it to be too fast paced.
