Liberals like Al Gore want to control what you can buy. George W. Bush and other conservatives believe in a free market, if an adult wants to buy a violent video game then they should be able to. We don't need a liberal Democrat nanny state.

Ok... I understand where you are coming from but I dont think they should.... they dont de-sensitize the youth... I played mortal kombat when it first came out at the age of 8 or 9... i turned out just fine... the best way to keep young children away from the violent video games is to follow the ESRB ratings... Parents and legislatiors asked/ demanded for this thing and now parents dont use it. I am a video game art major and I work at a video game store. I see on a daily basis mothers and fathers saying its ok for their child to buy a game like scarface in which there is drug-use and god of war which has language and nudity. It comes down to the parents and being hypocritical and not being willing to take the blame for allowing their children to be exposed to this content and needing someone else to blame....

I don't think they should be illegal. What I do think is they should be subject to the same laws as movies. Under a certain age, you cannot buy a certain video game. But, I guess what's to stop parents from buying them for their kids. There are some out there so violent.
"Expose Liberals" - the question was for kids, not adults.

I don't think the games desensitize our youth. I think that ideas of morality are still developing in the minds and brains of people in their teens and twenties, and that people of that age don't take animated violence as seriously as they will when they're older.
There was plenty of violence in games I played when I was younger; I beat people up in Double Dragon and Karate Champ and I shot people in Contra, but I hate to even swat the cat when he gets into something he shouldn't.
If someone has issues of violence, there's probably more wrong than playing video games.

Outlaw violent video games, then you must outlaw: Sports on TV(as they desensitize youth), sports in general (risk of injury), violent movies, violent books, caffeine, sugar, salt, fast food, junk food, electricity (as it releases carbon into atmosphere), anything that runs on gasoline, sharp objects, swearing, alcohol, tobacco, fire, firearms, etc, etc.
if you're going to outlaw something that 'desensitizes youth' then you can't make the argument that you won't outlaw anything that's dangerous as well. like cars that go faster than 15mph.
besides, parents today are too overprotective. without violence their kids are going to grow up into weaklings too scared to protect themselves from the harsh realities of life. someone's gonna beat them up everyday all the way thru grade school.

The flaw on your good judgment is the reality that television, video games, and movies do no longer influence human beings and cause them to dedicate homicide and different crimes till they are mentally volatile. all people is only prompted by ability of issues like quite a few now and lower back and that is totally uncommon. And lower back, those are the mentally volatile human beings. Homosexuality does not influence me or all people else. i'm no longer gay and that i forget approximately approximately gay human beings while they are doing issues like kissing. that is no longer my business enterprise to tell somebody the thank you to run their existence. that is no longer yours the two. And no person is forcing homosexuality down your throat. there is not any time table. there is not any conspiracy against morality. in actuality there is no longer something immoral approximately being gay. So right it incredibly is a answer. provide up thinking approximately gay human beings. If i do unlike some thing or somebody, I stay remote from it/them. it is so basic as that. some thing tells me you're one in each of those people who hate gay human beings yet yet curiously have gay on the concepts and think of roughly gay intercourse greater desirable than gay human beings. i think of you observed 2 gay adult men in actual existence or a action picture or a teach or a video interest and you are able to now't provide up thinking approximately it. possibly you're one in each of those mentally volatile human beings i discussed previously....

No - it is up to the PARENTS to decide what video game a child plays - not the government.
However, most libs don't agree with that point of view. They would rather regulate EVERYTHING.
