I have 2 american shorthaired cats both around 15 lb and one Itallian Greyhound around 18 lb (but he's very tall 17" or so). I will be moving to Italy for two years and so I must bring them with me. Please give me the requirements that I must meet to bring them. also If you know of any helpful hints for traveling with pets they would be great!!! the dog (Jackie) is a good traveler and so is one of the cats (Seven Colors), unfortunatly the eldest cat (Miss.Kitty) crys even when we go to the vets a few blocks away. I really don't want to use sedatives because I hear there really bad, what can I do to calm her down? I don't want her to be a hassel to the others on the plane. There is no quarantine to Italy (last I knew) but what papers and vaccines do they all need? It's a 9hr flight there and then a car ride to where we will be living, obviously my pets can't hold there water that long, but I have a neat Idea for the cats, the dog however I'm unsure about. Thank you!!!!

As for the vaccines/paperwork needed for international travel...I'll tell you the same thing I tell my clients....you must contact the Italian government agency in the US (consulate, etc...) and they can direct you to the proper department. Requirements change constantly (and every country has different ones) so I'd get it direct from the people that you will be dealing with! Also be sure to give yourself plenty of time as paperwork sometimes has certain deadlines, etc...The USDA may also help you get in touch with the right people as well as the airline. Do not trust the internet...things are often not up to date!

When it comes to your crying kitty, if you don't wish to use sedatives, there are herbal supplements that are available that some report help calm their pets prior to stress.

Nope that isn't even sluggish the cat down. i'm assuming the cats are spayed and neutered. If no longer do this and that's going to help. different than that, attempt using a product stated as Feliway. you will get it out of your vet. they're diffusers that plug into the wall with a small bottle of the liquid product screwed into it. Refills final some month. Works like a room deodorizer yet you are able to no longer smell it in basic terms the cats can. it relatively is a calmative and would help quiet down dissatisfied cats. Ask vet or well-being nutrition save approximately Rescue scientific care that's additionally a calmative and you are able to placed some drops of their water. i'm assuming you recognize the justifications your cats should not be outdoors and how success you're they have been nevertheless alive. shop them indoors.

well the airport will probably ask for you to bring a hard bottom/side traveling container for theb pets...you best bet would be to call the airline that you are traveling on, and ask for their requirements. this way yoou do not get to the airport and have to trurn around because you do not meet the requirements. Good luck. for miss kitty, maybe put one of your T-shirts in the bottom of the case so that she can have your scent and not feel so lonely.

If you are going to Italy with pets on a plane I will keep them in a kennel or like a basket and if their good travelers then you don't have nothing to worry about.
