If you are a teacher I would strongly reccommend working as a teacher first for a few years and then go onto grad school.

Not all masters degrees in education are for teachers. To be a school administrator on the elementary, secondary or university/college level you should have a master. A PHd or EdD is looked upon even more favorably and opens many doors of opportunity.

Why stop at a masters? Go for a doctorate. The prestige is great, however, you might risk being 'over qualified' having a doctorate and trying to get a job as a first grade teacher.
