I got thrown out of the girlscouts - that's a fact - lol
(I don't need no stinkin' girlscouts)

Yes, participated in Scouting Type Programs (we grew up poor too ... so going to camp was a luxury and we did not mind working there to contribute to the cost of our camping) ... and my children were also in scouts while growing up. My son did finish his Eagle Scout Rank ... which is very much service oriented.

I was a boyscout and when I grew older I became a girl scout. I wanted their cookies.

I ate a girl scout's cookies a couple of times, she loved it. When I was a little tyke, did the same to a brownie, too. Now I just scout for chicks!

I wasn't growing up. We couldn't afford it. I am a troop leader now and I always make sure the group committee covers the cost for children who's families can't afford to join but want to.
I'd rather take a hundred kids to camp that can't afford it but really want to go rather than take one rich kid who is only there because his parents want a weekend to relax without Jr.

I was one growing up and not now but enjoy watching kids (boys and girls) doing the scouting and earning badges
