Im white and Im not necessarily proud. Im happy with who I am but Im not like, "Whoo hoo im white!!". And you shouldnt either. Be proud of who you are as a person, not what skin you have. If your not proud of who you are, then work on that. But, if your angry that your black and greatly wish you were something else, than I am very sorry you feel that way. And talk to someone about that.

Oshihana is an ignorant reject. As a black woman, I am ashamed that somewhere down the line, someone black contributed to creating you. Less attractive? Are you serious? If we're so damned less attractive, then why do so many try to emulate us? (sorry if you don't understand because I DON'T speak in EBONICS)
As for the asker, if you are not proud to be black, then that is okay, as long as you are proud of who you are--at least you didn't say you were ashamed of what you are!
A lot of folks in our race are apalling, but it doesn't make me feel bad, its just them. There are plenty of idiots in every other race too!
Take the fine examples of blacks as provided above, (by someone white at that). Maybe that will help you understand that we're not all screwups.
I am proud to be who I am because God intended for me to be this way!

You should be proud to be black because you are black. If you were any other race than I would tell you to be proud that you are that race.
Bottom line is that it is only your pigmentation that makes you "black" (til' this day I haven't see a person that was that color, but that is another story for another day).
There are GREAT people that have done wonderful things for humanity in each & every color you can imagine. People are just people....it is that simple IF we it we allow it to be that way!

I am white and not proud either. I don't believe in pride of being white, black, red or whatever skin colour you may be. We have no choice what colour we are born, where we are born, who our parents are and so on...
I believe in pride of what we make ourselves to be. Are you a good person? Did you DO something to be proud oft? It doesn't have to be anything huge, as long as you try to be a little better than you were.
Not better than somebody else.

I'm not really proud of being black. No one handed me a color wheel before I was born, so I didn't choose it. I'm proud of my accomplishments despite being black in a traditionally racist country, but that's about it.

u should be very proud of ur roots. thanks to a black man we are now able to walk freely in the streets and to speak our minds w/out getting a beat down. there are plenty of our people that have made a difference in this world and we should always walk w/ our heads up high and proud of who we are and where we come from.

You should be proud of yourself. Your family line has nothing to do with you. Be proud of your own achievements and the thing you aspire to become. To hell with what your forefathers have done, they aren't you but you are you and you have every right to be proud of who and what you are.

perhaps b/c yours is a people who has liberated themselves from persecution and slavery...in an environment ripe with hostilty, discrimination and prejudice, you were able to come together and resist non-violently (which must have been VERY hard), thus winning for yourselves freedom from oppression and abuse. it takes time for wounds to heal and although i don't know you're current situation, just know that opportunities are there you just have to believe and know where to look. meanwhile, you should be proud to be you -- there is only one, after all. a postive attitude will take you places that negativism will never be able to...one life, one love.
