He actually seems to be sleeping worse now what I give it to him at bedtime. I'm wondering if I should give it to him earlier and maybe just a bottle at bedtime.

per my daughter peditrcian i started my daughter on cereal and stage 1 fruits and veggies at 4 months... i feed her in the afternoon at 1230 ( this is when she wakes up for the day) and dinner around 8. my hubbie works night so he gets home around 12 am and she is still up she usually goes down for the night around 1 am or so...i know this is a weird schedule for a baby. i have tried making it more normal but she wont have it.... its all in how the baby appetite is.. i feed her a cup or rice cereal and a half of stage 1 gerber fruit container ( when did they stop using jars) either banana, peaches, applesauce, or pears, and at diiner its the cereal again and a half a thingie of veggies, either peas, squash, sweet potatoes, or carrots. its all about what you baby will eat... she might not want it yet.. my daughter took to it right away.. my best friends little boy didnt want anything to do with solid food till 6 months.. good luck and god bless!

every child is different before you started giving him cereal, was he on formula? or breast milk? That has alot to do with it, also try mixing some juice or applesauce with the cereal maybe its too bland for him? Ask your pediatrition if he still isn't eating the cereal right. Try putting some of the cereal in a bottle instead of feeding on a spoon.

My son is definitely approximately 3 months and is a huge boy. He turns 3 months on August 10th and is already 14 lbs. i began out out him some weeks interior the previous on rice cereal in his bottle and he's doing great with it. I certainly located a small volume like one million/4 tsp. to 6-8 ozof formula. for the reason that he's a huge boy, he needs greater delight and positively basic formula isn't reducing it for him. So for you toddler, now would desire to be a great time to commence!

Go with your instincts. I'd give it to him three times a day. Breakfast, lunch & dinner. But, if you want him to sleep good at night, give it to him, right before his bedtime. Babies cant get to much "Nurishment", you know. And now adays, they put so many vitamins and good stuff in the baby cereal's. That I feel they should be getting it atleast two times a day, you know. Well have fun, I miss those years, when my kids were babies! Their so much fun, when their little! Smile!!!

When I started my daughter on rice, I was preparing it just at night. It helped her sleep through the night, with no waking. You can also do it first thing in the morning. All depends on your childs appetite. Those were the two best times that worked for me.

What I did for my baby was used rice cereal in his bottle right before bedtime. I used 1 ounce of cereal per ounce of milk/formula in his bottle. it took a few nights for him to get used to it. When he woke up in the middle of the night I also gave him a cereal bottle then as well. It only took about a week til he got used to it.

I give my baby cereal for breakfast and a little and night. Try giving him mylecon when you feed him cereal. It may take a little time for his belly to get used to the cereal and he may just get gas from it. That may be keeping him up at night.

Try it earlier in the morning because it can make them gassy and constipated. Also try barley cereal instead of rice because it doesnt cause gas and constipation as much.

You can give it whenever is most convenient for you and baby. If evening isn't working, try lunchtime or breakfast. You may need to experiement a little to find what works best.
