Hominids are assigned an index for their degree of sexual dimorphism (visual difference between males and females) and for where they stand in the spectrum from robust to gracile. Neanderthal had more sexual dimorphism and was more robust than Cro-Magnon, which was the first true modern man. Incidentally, Cro-Magnon is the progenitor of the White race in full, of the Asian race in part, and of the Black races, not at all.

Well... I can tell you for sure that the answer is not C - neanderthals definately closely resemble modern humans... and the answer is not D - neanderthals definately did use crude stone weapons. As far as A or B -- I'm not sure about this, but I think it's safe to say that both neanderthals and modern humans lived in caves when it was convenient (**** neanderthal bones have been found in caves, as have those of **** sapien)... Neanderthals were most definately nomadic, and many early H. sapiens were nomadic as well --- so I'm left with no correct answer from what I can see. To this day there are nomadic H. sapiens.... and I'm sure some people still live in caves.

If I had to choose one answer I would go with A. Honestly I think that this was a really bad question and there is no right answer.

This is Astronomy and Space. You'd have more chance to get people to do your anthropology homework in the anthropology section..

At any rate, this question in faulty, in that it uses the term "Modern Man" in an incorrect sense. Modern man is me and you, and we have little in common with Neanderthals. "Cro Magnon Man", a possible immediate predecessor of some modern men, had a, b, and d in common, although Cro-Magnon's stone weapons where somewhat superior to Neaderthal weapons. They were somewhat different in appearance from Neanderthals, and the genetic record indicates that any possible interbreeding between Cro-Magnon and Neanderthals did not give rise to fertile offspring.
