William Jefferson Clinton.

He was impeached for perjury and obstruction of justice (the same charges Scooter Libby is facing.)

He was disbarred in Arkansas for 5 years. He was not automatically restored to the bar, he must reapply and had to pay the state bar association $25,000. He was permanently disbarred from the US Supreme Court. The disbarment from Arkansas was a result of dropping all Whitewater lawsuits, the Supreme Court disbarment was a result of his impeachment.

You know sadly, ol' Billy Boy in fact did NOT get the full impeachment. He was found guilty by Congress and sent to the Senate where that impeachment was rejected -- purely partisan politics. Here are a few quotes (and the blind, morons just keep reelecting them...):

"I do not condone the behavior of President Clinton. I do not defend it, and I do not accept it. The conduct at the heart of the charges is deplorable. The president acted immorally, he acted recklessly, he acted disgracefully. (But) I will vote against conviction and removal of President William Jefferson Clinton on both articles of impeachment. I do not believe the House managers established beyond a reasonable doubt that this president is guilty of perjury and obstruction of justice." Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-California.

"It seemed like a clear choice to me. The case was not proven. The acts that the president was accused of were not high crimes or misdemeanors. The articles of impeachemnt should not have been voted in the House." Sen. Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M.

"The House managers failed to establish that the president's conduct amounts to 'high crimes or misdemeanors.' The Constitution and the evidence compels me to vote to acquit the president on both articles of impeachment." Sen. Jack Reed, D-R.I.

"As the roll was called, as the decision was made, I thought to myself, 'the Constitutionlives, in protecting the American people from partisan acts that would create turmoil and do great damage to our country.' I see this vote not as a vindicationfor the president but as a severe indictment for the blatant partisanshi of the House of Representatives in sending it here in the first place."
Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa

"This is a rubuke, there's no question. We would like to make it even more formal with a censure." Sen. Minority Leader Tom Daschle, D-S.D.

*scratching my head* It's been some time, but if my memory serves me correctly, the only president to actually suffer impeachment was Andrew Johnson, our 17th president. Followed immediately by Ulysses S. Grant who was not impeached but was severely chastised for being the only president ticketed while in office for drunk driving -- was on his horse in downtown Washington, D.C..

Andrew Johnson
impeachment for attempting to remove his disloyal secretary of war in defiance of the Tenure of Office Act, which required senatorial concurrence for such dismissals. The opposition failed by one vote to get the two thirds necessary for conviction.
Clinton
Congress moved forward with impeachment proceedings on Dec. 19,1999 Clinton became the second president in American history to be impeached. Two of the four articles of impeachment—Article I, grand jury perjury, and Article III, obstruction of justice—passed, the votes drawn along party lines. After a Senate trial in Jan.–Feb. 1999, Clinton was acquitted on both counts.
Nixon avoided impeachment by resigning.

Why are you such a hatemonger?

Who was the only President impeached for totally trivial reasons? Who should NEVER have been ASKED about his private consensual behavior in a civil suit about alleged sexual harassment?

Who was the biggest horndog ever in the White House? WARREN G. HARDING! I kid you not.

Hee hee hee........that's REALLY FUNNY! Too bad there isn't any factual truth to your asinine question.

Did they teach you that at the Ronald (McDonald) Reagan School of the Blind out in California? I bet they did. Nice to get a paycheck for being so stupid isn't it?

POLITICAL TRIVIA: 1) Who was the Only President who resigned his office because he WAS going to be impeached? 2) Who was the only President to insult the American justice system by giving a criminal President a full pardon? 3) Who were the only PRESIDENTS to break the law by selling illegal weapons to IRAN and were never prosecuted for THEIR crimes?

Answers to the above are multiple choice.

A) Ronald (McDonald) Reagan

B) Richard (Tricky Dick) Nixon

C) George (New World Order) Bush

D) Gerald (Oil Embargo) Ford

POLITICAL TRIVIA: 5) Who is the only President to be a cheerleader while in college?

Was it:

A) Adolf Hitler

B) Idi Amin Dada

or

C) Georgie (stuttering fool) Bush

Clinton WAS IMPEACHED. There wasn't enough Senate votes to remove him from office.

Too many people think that impeachment is the removal from office. That isn't true. A president is impeached, then the Senate tries him. If enough find him guilty, then he is removed from office.

He was not disbarred.

The beginning of the end of conservatism...when the republicans decidede to waste the tax payers dollar pursuing a non issue regarding the office of the president. i sure wish they had put that aside and listened to the warnings re: Bin Laden. I guess they felt their agenda was more important than the american tax payers agenda, or thew safety of americans. Sounds like todays republicans . RIP Barry Goldwater. You are probably too young (or too blind) to know who he is. Google him and get a lesson on conservatism. Only the future generations can save the GOP.
