Like prescription medication, St Johns Wort can take a while to kick in - approx 4- 6 weeks. St Johns Wort is much milder than prescribed anti depressants and I have never known them to have any side effects

If treating depression, St Johns Wort typically takes 4 to 8 weeks before any major difference is noticed. Sometimes you may notice an improvement after as little as 2 weeks.

When used for treating anxiety, an improvement is often noticed after just a few doses.

Any time between 3 weeks and 2-3 months. If you're taking prescribed anti-depressants as well, be sure to ask your doc whether it's safe to take St. John's Wort as well, as it often interferes.
