i had amenorrhea when i was about your age, also developed in 6th grade. i went without a period for over a year and a half. the doctors ran tests to check hormones & gave a physical exam. they could find no explanation for it and gave me a high dose of hormones (like in the pill) to 'jump start' it. i was supposed to take 10, then have a perios a few days later. i took 2 and started while laid up in bed with monster cramps.
eventually they just put me on the pill to regulate it.

good luck.
