I always take the route to houston from SA and then go to sugarland through houston and it takes me 5-6 hours driving.

Take I-10 East to Grand Parkway (TX 99). It's an exit or two after you pass Katy Mills Mall. Go south on Grand Parkway (TX 99) until you reach US 90. Take US 90 East into Sugarland.

4 Hours MAX

5 or 6 hours? It didn't take me that long when the speed limit was 55. It shouldn't take longer than three.

Try Mapquest and get point-to-point directions.

Or, from Interstate 10 (we call that portion the Katy Freeway) exit Highway 6 and turn right at the light. I think the exit is 751, but it might be 750 (I live near 755 and am counting backwards as my brain moves west). Follow Highway 6 south to Alternate 90. It is about 8 miles and there are traffic lights every mile or so, but it isn't that bad except at rush hour.

I still don't know how it takes you 5 or 6 hours to get here. My folks used to live in Bluffview (subdivision up off 281 and Bitters) and I lived in Houston. The only time it took more than three hours to make the trip to SA was the day before Thanksgiving. And there was one time during an ice storm in '89 that it took me nine (because of a jackknifed 18-wheeler).

Any decent state map will show you any number of ways that don't take 5 hours.

OK...see if you can follow this. Take I-10 East to Highway 6. Turn right (south) on Highway 6. Highway 6 will take you all the way directly into Sugarland. Quite a lot of lights, going that way. You could also take I-10 to Beltway 8 (toll road) take Beltway 8 south to Highway 59 and then take HIghway 59 south to Sugarland...less lights. Probably farther that way, though. Good luck!

I am not from that area but I looked at the road atlas and the only thing I can see is assuming you are on interstate 10 E. if you get off at exit 751 which is route 6 S. and take that to either Alt90 or US59 and go E. from there. I hope this helps

take I10 to FM359 south and there you are,it's a pretty nice drive too. you should pick up a copy of The Roads of Texas,it's the best map I've ever used...you'll really like it if you like to drive....thinking of that, you've got to go explore Old San Antonio Rd. #9,it rocks
