A church decided to help them and somehow put together enough money to buy the family a house. They gave the house to the family as a gift. The family lived in the house for a few weeks and then sold it for it's market value, around 90 thousand I think. Were they wrong to do this?

Some would say yes, some would say no.
Where was the home, Memphis?
Maybe thy had no intentions on staying in Memphis, and this was a way for them to get back to their home.
If you give one a gift, you must accept what they do with it. When you give a gift it should have no conditions. I am sure they are very happy to receive this extremely generous gift. Did anyone ever ask them why they sold? I bet they say to move back home where they feel comfortable.
Just ask.

That question is really hard to answer. Morally yes, that is wrong, but others may think differently.
