I like Jurnee Smollett. She is a great actress, and I would love to see her in more films! I liked her character, too. Very friendly and down to earth. She was awesome in Eve's Bayou as well in '97. this is one of my favorite movies because I remember going skating at the rink back in the day.

My favorite character from this movie is X's father Curtis. Even though he did not show it at first - he really cared deeply about his children to the point where he wanted to shelter them from the adult problems that he was dealing with to keep a roof over his children's head and his family together.
