I have a friend who isn't the prettiest girl in the world, I'll admit it, but she calls herself ugly 24/7 and won't SHUT UP because she doesn't have a boyfriend! Whenever she gets around our other friends with significant others and they hug/kiss, she throws this tantrum and walks off, then later says, "I just can't handle it". She calls other friends b*** and sl**** and wh**** because they have boyfriends and she doesn't, and she's constantly making sexual innuendos about what me and my boyfriend "did last night" (we're not even sleeping together!!!! neither one of us ever has!)) She uses all this dramatic language like, "I just wasn't mean for love" and all this crap--and she's been single since like, sixth grade! It's about ten years later and she's STILL going on like this!!! She talks about relationships like she's going to fall in love and marry the guy, and acts like she knows all about them when she's never had one!!
I'm sick of it! What should I do??

Don't let it get to you hun. I had a friend like that also. We are not friends anymore but i can relate. I have a boyfriend of almost a year and when we were friends she was always saying guys never want me and stuff. And deep inside you're like well try to look nice, be nice, and think positive. But she refused to do so. She tried to ruin my relationship with my boyfriend by making up lies so she could be happy and not be the only one single. It's cause i never said anything. So maybe you need to step up and speak your mind, reassure her that the right guy is out there but they haven't met. Everyone is destined for someone.

good luck!

It sounds obvious that this person is incredibly insecure and wants to take her own misery out on everyone around her. It is not your job to make her feel good about herself or to put up with her insulting behavior. I would tell her straight up that she is to self loathing and that her misery spreads like a fungus! Tell her that if she continues being disrespectful that you will not continue the friendship at all. If she has any maturity at all she will cut out the negativity and be a real friend.

You should take her 2 a pyschologist or a special counselor that helps improve self-esteem, or (lol, jk) tell her to do what Spongebob did when he thought he was ugly and yell out to the world (ok, only out the window or on the porch) that she's ugly and she's proud.

Find her a boyfriend...quick! You must know someone that would go out with her. no? Maybe an online dating service? My grandma used to say that for every pot there's a lid that fits. Help this girl find a lid! Then you can have some peace for once.

Tell her how upsetting it is to you to have her talk this way about you and your other friends. She needs to know how much it annoys (or worse) other people. Maybe the reason she doesn't have a significant other is because she treats people this way.

I'd of dumped her drama about 10 years ago ... she doesn't have a b/f because they hate this kind of drama queen ... tell her to shut up and grow up ... stop hanging with her and /or talking to her ... and feel free to tell her why ...

Smack her and tell her that her attitude doesn't help her. Next time she refers to herself as ugly, don't disagree or agree...just tell her that she should focus on displaying a good quality of hers that doesn't have to do with her face...and then smack her.
