because there's physically almost nothing you can do about it, not being loved back is a wall you can't break. What you can do is stop banging your head against it and try to find another path to go on, but that means, more then pulling out of your mind one person and one feeling, doing this together with exterminating the whole universe of meanings you have created inside you around him or her. You got to operate on your own living tissue, without anesthetics, and that hurts like hell. But, like any operation, it does make you healthier afterwards, so stop whining and put your hand on that scalpel.

This is actually more of a neurology or psychology question than it is a philosophy question.
It's been proven that the same hormones and neurons become engaged during heartbreak as those during guilt, depression, and isolation. Frankly, that feeling you get that makes you feel like garbage is the same one you get when you know you've done something wrong and want to be forgiven or when you're all by yourself and wonder if the world has it out for you.
So really the only way to stop feeling bad is to.... stop feeling bad. Get out there and have some fun. Everything said about how we all need a good cry is nonsense because what we really need is a niche to fit in and enjoy ourselves.
The romance, relationship, and pity party are over and done, so get up and out and have some fun.

Because it hurts to the very core of your being, mentally, emotionally & physically. It is so much harder to deal with than just the pain of broken leg, for example. That can be fixed & heal much fast but emotional & mental pain takes much longer to heal & sometimes never fully goes away depending on the situation.

Because we put WAY to much effort in the relationship that should flow like it has always been. After giving so much of our selfs witch can be mentally and physically draining (unnecessary)trying to be that someone they want or making them the one we want ....its like getting fired from a job you just mastered and really like what was the point
