Most generally, a period means not pregnant.

Generally speaking, if you have sexual intercourse and you have a normal period afterwards, the chances are only slight that you are pregnant. However, there are numerous instances when a woman can have a period and still be pregnant. My youngest baby was a complete surprise. I had been on birth control pills for 11 years and my children were 17, 15, and 12 when I found out I was pregnant. I had 2 regular periods followed by a light period. I had some other health problems at the time as well that could have caused an irregular period, but I did not have any signs of pregnancy. By the time I found out, I was already 17 weeks along! The only way to prevent pregnancy (as well as many STD's) 100% is not to have sexual intercourse. Any time you have sex, there is always a chance it can result in pregnancy.

Like they said in most cases a period does mean you are not pregnant but like the first lady said there are rare cases where you do have your period. It could be just the first period and then none, or you have one for months maybe aven the whole time so. I would say if she still is worried about this tell her to go get pregnancy test.

Good Luck

If the sex was unprotected, then yes, she still can be pregnant. When I was pregnant with my first child, I didn't know it for almost 3 months because I had a period the first 2 months after I got pregnant.
