It is like asking whether your computer is boon or bane, whether your studies have been boon or bane. Development of science is definitely a boon unless one points a gun at himself and pulls the trigger.

Dear, it is like asking if fire is a boon or bane! Fire is neutral to the outcome of its use.. It has no role in the merits or otherwise of its use... It is the user who determines the outcome and should take the merit or blame for the outcome caused by his action..

Not only science... even in the components of culture... look at the arts and literature that develop all over... many finer arts have been made cruder by those who ought to have exposed more salutory attributes of these (e.g., music for alleviating painful diseases) ... instead of refining the emotions, many modern version of arts and literature just arouse undesirable emotions in the audience with consequences we see day in and day out...

In the name of liberty we seem to cross all bounds of niceties knowing full well the fall outs of reckless free will... The boon or bane of any field is not in what is perceived as its development (meaning change for the better) but in the application thereof for the betterment of humanity..

well dude if you see this from one angle it may seem a boon because it has made life very simple to live...but on the other hand it is a bane because it destroys the nature and makes this world a unsafer place to live in...so it is entirely up to you to choose if it is a boon or it is a bane...i hope i made you understand quite well...if you have any doubt please contact me on : share1993@yahoo.co.in
