Atmospheric pressure can vary, so a lower atmospheric pressure should cause the ball to feel more rigidly inflated. That should give you a higher bounce.

The other factor would be humidity. Water vapor molecules are smaller and lighter than molecules of Oxygen (O2) and Nitrogen (N2), the main gases of our atmosphere. The more humid it is, the easier a baseball player can hit a home run, or the farther a bullet can travel. There should be somesmall difference in the speed of the basketball when it's dropped from a significant height.

There has been no official research to indicate it affects the baby one way or the other, but logically, this is the time when baby is learning the most. It would be best to get into the habit of only encouraging things that are appropriate for a child to be seeing. Just because we don't think they notice doesn't mean they don't, and it can be bad for them. Those movies are rated for adults for a reason. That said, most pediatricians recommend against TV as much as possible while a child is young because they are better stimulated by other activities like playing with your child. I certainly understand the exhaustion a new mother faces, having been there, but it's really important to avoid the TV as much as possible. Children who watch a lot of TV early on have a higher tendency to be overweight, have problems like ADD/ADHD, and other behavior problems because they aren't developing properly. Perhaps she could put on some soft music or put her in one of those learning play gyms instead. They will increase the baby's motor skills and be much better in the long run.

If it is cold the pressure in the ball will be lower. The ball will bounce less.
