Not sugar beet - I know that this needs soaking etc, but beet like we eat? My pony lives on a field with sheep and the farmer wants to feed his sheep fresh beet. Will it harm my pony?

Since a beet is a root vegetable like a carrot I don't think there would be any negative response in feeding it to a horse. However, when they do start feeding it keep an eye on your pony and make sure he doesn't show any signs of colic or uncomfortableness.

For horses/ponies; Once a week is good to give beet pulp ( that has been soaked in water overnight). It is very good for their digestive system.

I seriously doubt it, most horses can eat just about anything. One time, my horse ate something he wasn't supposed to but nothing ever happend so I don't think that a beet is going to hurt him/her.

I think it's fine. I have never given my horse beet, but I don't think it's bad.

horse will generally eat anything that smells good. my horse eats watermelon. lol. so i dont think that beet will hurt your pony at all.

It should not harm your pony - chances are he may nibble at them (and the greens) but will likely not acquire a taste for them.
