Do you think its fair or unfair that California is thinking about passing a law that forbids parents to spank their children?

Unfair.
My parents always spank me in the butt if i've done something wrong. It's a thing that kid would remember if they make something wrong.
When you only speak to the kids when they made something wrong, what you say is just a wind for them, or sometimes they will answer you back which will hurt the parents, while the kids just just say "Yess, my parents are dumb".
Fair
Parents sometimes become uncontrolled when they are angry. They spank the kids with their force which is sometimes too much because their force aren't to be compared to the force of the kid.

Let's get it right the law says no spanking of children under 3. However, in California, that's starting down a slippery slope that probably shouldn't be started on.

even if the law is passed, the courts might eventually throw it out as unconstitutional.
i think it's unfair. spanking is ok by me as a last resort, not to be confused with beating or abusing. as long as it has a purpose and the child understands why s/he is being punished

unfair...not sure how they would get that passed or enforced tho
parents should have right to discipline kids. a spanking is good every now and then...and there is a difference between spanking and beating

It's my child and I will discipline as I see fit.
Over the years "feel gooders" have decided to not discipline their kids. I don't recall kids shooting up schools back when parents actually took control and made them responsible for their actions.
I spank my son...ABSOLUTELY...only as a last resort....
He is also a very well behaved kid!

Stupid law. Wait another 20 years and see how these kids turn out. They will have no respect for authority because there will be no consequences to their actions. Maybe they should give Charlie Manson a 'timeout' and see if he stays put.

unfair to me.. just my opinion... Glad I don't live in Calif.
I do understand there are some parents to go overboard on spanking.. I trying reasoning, grounding, etc..first then if all else fails .....

I think it's unfair that the government is slowly taking control of peoples lives...maybe they should put cameras in your bathroom to make sure you use a bathmat...
