i have a clear micron xbox controller, i was getting bored with it so i was thinking about painting it. should i paint the outside or the inside so it gets a nice glossy look from the clear plastic??

p.s. i have many controllers so i dont care about ruining them

I wouldn't.

The reason for that.. is two fold.

1. The paint can pose some health risks depending on the type of finish and whether you have it on the outside (can be absorbed through the skin)

2. Paint can gum up the 'moving parts' which are primarily the buttons and their spring-back ability and the joysticks themselves.

Now.. if you want to paint it and put it on the shelf as a sort of iconic trophy.. have at it and post us some pics!

haha umm..I would say outside since if it were to be the inside you would ruin the wires and setup most likely. But the downside is when your playing its gonna feel really rough since its paint but if you have a lot of controllers go for it. I recommend getting some paint for plastics (they have some at home depot) so it doesn't chip off right away.

it wont look good and yes you'll ruin it if the paint gets in anything or itll make the buttons stick. but it will look bad
