I have never really studied his works, but I am interested in doing so. Where could I find some of his writings and what do you recommend I read?

Thanks =)

i do no longer advise any offense, yet Voltaire did no longer write The Misanthrope. That grow to be Moliere, a French playwright. Candide is surprising. the fundamental Descartes is Meditations of First Philosophy. it relatively is somewhat dry, yet once you're interior the wonderful strategies-set there are some relatively humorous aspects (Descartes in his dressing dress, sitting via the hearth, melting wax: it relatively is form of humorous). At any cost, you are able to no longer understand maximum of recent philosophy without examining Descartes, through fact he set us as much as have philosophy's purpose determining what we are able to be justified in believing.

Candide.

And then go to the Religion & Spirituality section and see how many xians believe (like Pangloss) that this is "the best of all possible worlds".

It amazes me every day.

You can get Candide on line actually if you look up books online. It kind of helps though if you have one with footnotes to explain some of his allusions.

Zadig is probably one of his most popular works, along with Candide.

I just finished Candide, which was very funny. Pick up "Candide and Other Stories", it has his best stories.
