i always wondere the same question. ive gained like 40 lbs and got some stretch marks. i was at walmart one day and found this cream from Palmer's Cocoa Butter. it's called "Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula, Massage Cream For Stretch Marks". trust me this works. u can find it at walmart, walgreens, pretty much any pharmacy. i tried it and this gave me good results.

Vitamin E oil or cream can be applied to the skin in the affected areas, every day . The cream should be applied overnight. Taking Vitamin E capsules also helps to reduce the scars or stretch marks. I don't know how to make them disappear. My mom had them real bad so when I got pregnant I was afraid I would have them also. I went from 118lbs to 200lbs from toxemia. I went from a 34c to a 38 DD also. I wore a bra everyday and even to bed. I used Nivea skin oil (greasy lotion) on my skin every day and after every shower. I don't have any stretch marks, not one and I was huge. I've heard cocoa butter works too. Stretch marks are caused when the skin can't stretch well. Dry skin doesn't stretch very well but skin that is moist has more elasticity so it is less likely to leave marks.

Personally I've never heard of a way of preventing them or even making them go away. You get them because of the elasticity of your skin, so some people are more prone to them than others.

If the elasticity of your skin is good then you most likely won't get any or very few, but if it isn't good then you will most likely get stretch marks.

A lot of women get them during pregnancy because of the baby and your skin stretching. I was blessed not to get any. But a lot of women do get them.

It's just part of nature/life, and having a baby is worth all that we some times must go through to have our children.

I don't know if it works on stretch marks, but Vitamin E oil seems to work on scars.

If you can't find the oil, buy a large bottle of Vitamin E pills.
They are like tiny plastic footballs filled with oil
Cut some open and rub it on the marks and leave it.
Try one large bottle of it and see what happens, if it works, buy more.

There is no magical cream, lotion, gel, spray, ointment etc that can prevent and/or remove stretchmarks. It all has to do with your own body's elasticity. Some people have horrendous stretchmarks where you can practically find a route to your house while others have none. As a mother of 2, I can honestly say that I am proud of my stretchmarks. It is a constant reminder of the magical lives I gave birth to years ago.

I think it's mostly genetics. I have 2 kids (and got big with both) and have no stretch marks. I used cocoa butter religiously with both pregnancies and drank lots and lots of water. My mother and sister both also got no stretch marks so it's probably genetic but the lotion and water can't hurt, right?

It's largely genetic - if you're mother had them, then you probably will too. The best thing to do is rub oil or lotion into your skin at least once a day while you're pregnant. Vit E is particularly good, but I think just massaging the skin helps to loosen it up a bit.
