Why are ppl so hateful? I mean, come on. It is 2007, and ppl still haven't learned not to judge ppl b4 u know them. So many ppl I know are like, "Oh, she is evil cuz she practices wicca", "he is crazy b/c he is all about God", "She is black so she must like rap", "He he dresses emo so he must be a cutter". Even if all this is true, why does it matter? "I don't like gay ppl"- that makes me more angry than anything, when i hear that. Excuse me, but have u met every gay person in the world? Have u even sat down and got to know a gay person? What if i said "i don't like Jewish ppl", or "I don't like black ppl"- which isn't true at all,but if i had said that i would be considered prejudice. Why can't everyone just get to know one another, get along, put aside their differences and have fun? Why must thousand and millions of ppl die just because they r different? I don't think i will ever understand.

"Maybe,
It's not to late,
To learn how to love
And forget how to hate."

I agree with you. I don't hate anyone for the way they dress, their race, or their sexual orientation. I have a lot of gay friends and I hate when people judge them for being gay. They are some of the best people in the world and would do anything for me. One in particular literally gave me the shirt off of his back one night because I was cold. The funny thing is that a lot of the prejudiced people wouldn't even know someone was gay until they got to know them personally. I admit that some are obvious but most of the gay or bisexual people I know are pretty discreet about it.

It would be so nice to live in a world where everyone liked each other and got along regardless of any personal factors involved. I think it's just human nature to hate what you don't understand and a lot of people aren't willing to take the time to understand something that was pounded in their heads to hate.

I cannot in this forum, but there is quite a body of research on the topic, if you really want to understand it better.

It's a psychological and sociological phenomenon, and there's no one, simple explanation for it. There are a bunch of different things going on.

Part of it is what people learn at home.

Part of it is what people get from the culture. It's in the best interest of those who own everything to have all the people at the bottom hate each other and blame them for their quality of life going down the toilet.

That way, people don't realize that it's the people who are making off with all the wealth and power that are the problem.

Part of it is that it's easier to use simple, handy labels to categorize everyone (of course, the same people who do this consider themselves to be unique individuals).

People's ability to reason goes out the window. (I'm in the US and can't BELIEVE the attitudes of so many towards everyone from the Middle East, Arabs, and Muslims -- you know, "THEM" -- all of whom, apparently, are responsible for all the violence in the world.)

As I say, if you want to understand, both WHY and what's to be done about it, there's a lot that's known.

My sense of things is that this is actually getting better. (Shocking idea, but remember that the haters tend to scream loudest, so we notice them more.)

It is my firm belief that now there are more people who understand that all humans are human, and more people working to get this across to the rest, than ever before.

We are (slowly, I admit) coming toward consensus.

(Take gays, for example. When I was young, acceptance of gays was almost completely unthinkable -- a LOT has changed in my lifetime.)

You might surf around -- try +research +prejudice in your favorite search engine.

I really hope that all that you describe will someday end, it seems that people are here to hate... but the truth is that people are happy when they love, don't matter race or religion. If people find love in their hearts this world would be a whole deal better.

But alas, the world if filled with hate and violence, everyone believes that "they" have the right hate and even kill for what they believe in, sometimes that idea can be very romantic, but if you put it in perspective that only makes things worse.

I think that most people belittle others to make themselvs feel superior. Some just are plain ignorant. I think that people are entitled to their opinions. I myself would never be wiccan, I think it's wrong, but I wouldn't hate someone else just because that is what they believed. I think there is an imbalance in the world between political correctness and hatred. Political correctness has come to the point that people are afraid to have their own opinion but hatred and ignorance isn't the answer either. I have no idea how to fix it besides speak my mind and teach my children better.

when i was 19 I moved rel far away from everything I knew and my entire past. I found some friends, and was going through a time in my life where I wanted to know what other people went through. what kind of criticism different races went through and such. So I had my friend Bic my head (shave it bald) I went out to malls and got the nastiest looks, I went into restaurants and people actually moved because I was sitting next to them. People thought I had cancer, but I didn't and people treated me bad, real bad! It was the worst yet the best experience I had ever had!

people, all people have a bad habit
of thinking everyone else is just like them.
and it;s just not true.
everyone is different,in so many ways,
some people might have simularities
but are not the same,same.

remember in todays society we are lazier than ever before
it is easy to complain about everything, it;s hard to make things work,so we ***** cause its easy,
it takes 2 muscles to frown,12 to smile,so its easyier to look mad all the time,it takes effort to smile.

can you see the pattern,it;s easy to judge a book by it;s cover
it takes too much work to really get to know somebody.

we are all so pushed and rushed for time,we forget to sit back
and smell the roses.

nobody writes letters anymore
it takes too much time.

we need to stop, listen, hear, speak, and communicate more

but both you and I know, that;s not going to happen.

Unfortunately because we are human. Humans 1. do not like differences from the norm (something different from themselves). and 2. fear the unknown. We also fear finding out we are wrong and so shut down when we find out something about a person that doesn't meet with our version of "normal". It will take many, many years for humans to even attempt to see beyond color, religion, and uniqueness, if ever.

there is no explaining it...the best you can do is love the people around you and try to make them realize how selfish they're being if they care about the differences... but that's as far as you can really go... I have a large range of friends- LGBTQ, black, asian, white, hispanic, older, younger, rich, poor, etc... and we all get along great

I think people are more comfortable being able to put others in a box. It's not nice but people don't like what they don't know. They like feeling like the know the way others are.
