lots of people say jo, and i'm a bit bored.
i've always wanted to know exactly which character do people like best.

I think they are all interesting in their own right.
Jo is the voice of early feminism
Meg the embodiment of the cult of domesticity.
Amy is about gentry and materialism.
Beth is about ideal little "girl qualities" and contentment even in the face of adversity.
Mrs. March...she knows just what to say and do. She parents excellently. She is what any mother wants to be. I think it she, Marmy, I favor the most.

i have to agree w/North Wind about what each character embodies but i will go a step further to say that today's girls picking up Little Women can identify to Jo the most because we can relate to her but really all the characteristics that really define each girl are a representation of all women, we are all those things whether in small or large doses and thats what makes the book so compelling. If we look closely we can see ourselves in each character and feel connected.

i think i'd have to go with jo b/c i hate amy for taking laurie away from jo, i hated beth b/c thats what made jo not selfish and give up laurie and she's too dependent on everyone else. i hated meg b/c she's always like i'm going to be a lady and get married and have a million kids and she tries too hard to be like marmee. i think my favourite character in the book is their aunt b/c she's rich and has everything she wants and needs

Growing up, I kept several journals and was the "scribbler" of the family; so
cliché as it is, I've always liked Jo...Now, if I could just find my very own Professor Bhaer.

Ugh, I hated that book. But personally I kind of liked Meg best of all of them.
