The number of people who answered the part of the question "What government does the US have?" by saying "Democracy" should be ashamed of themselves. A few got it right and stated it is a Constitutional Republic. Any answer that included "democracy" in it is also incorrect.
The difference. A democracy is "majority rule". For example, a lynch mob is democracy at work. 100 people want one lynched. One person in the picture says that he wants to be tried under the law. The 100 win and the guy gets lynched.
A constitutional Republic is a government (and nation) of LAWS. In the above example, the 100 people who want to lynch the one guy have every right to their opinion as to who should be lynched, BUT it is only in a court of LAW that the government may deprive the one individual of his LIFE AND LIBERTY and therefore his PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS.
Out problem in America is that socialist are abducting our Constitutional Republic. They are doing this by getting the general population to believe that this country is a "democracy" and that the word "democracy" means the same thing as "Constitutional Republic". The terms DO NOT mean the same thing.
I would estimate that this socialistic attack on our true form of governement to be one of, if not the most crucial issue that needs to be corrected in our country. Only when we, as a population, become educated enough in the differences will we ever insist that our elected representatives stop buying votes through unconstitutional entitlement programs such as social security, medicare/medicaid, food stamps, education (entitles the government to teach your kids whatever they want to) and so forth.
The "people" have their greatest voice and their greatest responsibility within the Constitutional Republic framework. Through its exercise, the people have a voice in what laws get passed (or repealed) and can ensure that no law is passed that entitles the central government to usurp its true purpose in order to become foist off "Democratic Socialism" on the country.

Government? It's a whhooollleee lot ! Not only is it all of the people in the Supreme Court, the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the President Branch, there are thousands more ! Remember all of the governors, the mayors, and alderman ! People who work government jobs are also part of the government. So, this question is close to unanswerable.

Your question does not make any sense. Go back and take social studies again. This time pay attention.
