Hello-

A little boy (age 6) was raped by an intruder at my son's school. I (as we all are) are devestated. My heart literally ached for him and his family. I do not know him by name, but I would like to offer some help. People keep saying his life is over ect... and I want to show him and his parents that he can and will lead a happy, productive life. I would like to contact a celebrity of some sort that the boy and his family might look up to who was sexually assaulted as a child to see if they would be willing to meet, write or speak with the family... if the family would approve. The only one I can think of is Oprah. Any other thoughts? Thank you in advance.

I just want to add, that I do not plan on approaching the family at all. I purchased several books for the child and the parents, which I left with the school social worker to give to them (annonymously) and would do the same in this situation. The family can decide what they would like to do.

I am not trying to "butt in" just offer an option for them to acceot or reject. I do like the idea of a collection for treatment though....thanks for that suggestion

I don't know if this will really solve the problems that the family is experiencing..having the 6 yr old boy and family talk to a celeb that has been sexually abused as well..Kid needs time, love and professional help..he is 6 I don't think he cares about a celeb making it out of it..
But here are some of the known celebs that have been sexually abused:

Jane Fonda
Terri Hatcher (Desperate Housewifes)
Ozzy Osbourne
Jonathan Davis (Singer from Korn)
Oprah
Michael Jackson
Pamela Anderson
Chester Pennington (Linkin Park)

It's a really kind reaction from you. But I think that "contacting a celebrity" will not make him better for long time. He'll remember that he was raped everytime he'll see that celebrity on TV.
May be he needs a friend at his age to support him more than he needs a celebrity. Since you're not at his age you can't do anything to support really.

Oh you Cindy you want the boy to get support from Micheal Jackson ?!! it's just like to give the sheep to the wolf.

I don't think you need a celebrity to tell this boy that his life is not over. The people closest to him need to help him realise that he is still very much loved and this does not change how they feel about him. My heart bleeds for you - this is a horrific ordeal for this poor boy. Oprah will not make things better for him. He needs the love, comfort and security that is around him, not a celebrity.

I know of hockey players that were molested, cant remember the name though but you could look in that direction.

However, until the boy's family comes to you for help, I think it would be best to let them be. It can be hard to deal with, and the loss of privacy due to well intented people can be an additional pressure on that family.

The child is going to need expensive professional help, so why not take up a collection to help his parents?

As I said you when you asked this question 2 minutes earlier, butt out of it. It is not your business.
