I mean, come on. It is 2007, and ppl still haven't learned not to judge ppl b4 u know them. So many ppl I know are like, "Oh, she is evil cuz she practices wicca", "he is crazy b/c he is all about God", "She is black so she must like rap", "He he dresses emo so he must be a cutter". Even if all this is true, why does it matter? "I don't like gay ppl"- that makes me more angry than anything, when i hear that. Excuse me, but have u met every gay person in the world? Have u even sat down and got to know a gay person? What if i said "i don't like Jewish ppl", or "I don't like black ppl"- which isn't true at all, if i had said that i would be considered prejudice. Why can't everyone just get to know one another, get along, put aside their differences and have fun? Why must thousand and millions of ppl die just because they r different? I don't think i will ever understand.

"Maybe it's not to late to learn how to love and forget how to hate."

I think hatred is horribly misplaced for the most part. We substitute hatred for for all kinds of emotions and feelings we deny. Instead of looking inside of ourselves and being convinced of our integrity we look outward at anything we can blame for our limits or misfortunes. But then, things that should be hated are tolerated like anyone who looks to the innocent as fodder or disposable tools for their use.

As much as I believe you and hope for the same thing, it is not possible. We would have to recreate the media for remembering and perpetuating the stereotypes. There is a lot of talk and little action. Teachers teach you in school to be nice, but often stereotype their OWN students. The bubbly (preppy) ones are nice, and they prefer them, and the slient (gothic) ones are bad influences. But think about the last time you judged someone, by their outfit or how they spoke. People need organization in their mind. They have to fit others in boxes, ones that are programmed in us.
I hope this helped. And I'm not saying that I don't stereotype. I do, more than most. I just keep my really cruel comments to myself. Talking about people is a sure fire discussion starter. So people just do it.

Because we can easily forget the times when we have gotten a lot of help from our friend and yet remember the trivial occasions when we 'think' our friend had betrayed us.

Another reason is we go by face value. We don't stop to think what there might be behind a pretty face or an ugly face.

We humans hold grudges. We have forgotten the value of forgiving and forgetting.
