The police came out and did a report but now I know I've got to get a surviellace system. My questions are concerning the ways of recording what goes on while we're not at home. As far as I know you can buy a vcr system that records to tape or a dvr system that records digitally. What are the pros and cons of each and what do you suggest?

If you record to tape, tape wears out after a while, the video starts to go bad and you will have to replace it. Also, with tape, once it runs to the end it has to rewind before it starts taping again. IF while rewinding, something happens, it will not get caught on tape.

If you use a DVR it records to a hard drive and you can record over and over without the video deteriorating.
