Start in safe mode (f8 while it is booting) as that way the worm should not be active. Once it comes up in safe mode (yes it will take longer) run your anti-virus program and your spyware programs. You should be able to clean the worm without destroying part of your system. If not then you will at least know what file is affected. You can then reload that file(s) from your Windows CD by using the expand command and overwriting the infected file. Once that is done - reboot and you should be OK.

The system volume information folder on your computer is part of System Restore; the tool that allows you to set points in time to roll back your computer.

Turn off System Restore, shut down and reboot your computer, sorry, I don't remember if Windows will automatically delete the folder on your drive, restart your computer and if you are completely sure the virus is gone, turn your system restore back on and make a new restore point.

The System Volume Information folder will be back and you shouldn't have any problems.

smgray99 and node1499 are both correct, although you shouldn't need to worry about reloading the file, as most worms are self-packaged in their own files. Of course, there is always the possibility it has infected actual system files.
