My fiance bought me a gorgeous teddy bear for Valentine's Day, but its EYE is missing, you think he would have gotten another
one by now?

He gave it to me on Valentine's Day, I got all excited jumping up and down, then I turn the beautiful teddy bear around and it's MISSING AN EYE! He saw the shocked look on my face,

He apologized, said he noticed it while he was at the check-out line, but didn't want to lose his spot in line! He was in no hurry, we had no plans; he couldn't spare 5 minutes to get a normal one?

He "claimed" he'd exchange it the next day, but it's going on a week; I'm beginning to think he got it out of the trash. Other than the missing eye, it seems new, but you never know!

Is it just me, or is a one-eyed teddy bear a bit morbid and creepy? It's supposed to be a romantic gift.

What should I do with it, and him?

I don't think anyone should be "bound" to give a gift on any occasion, including birthdays. By this I mean that anytime you receive a gift, it should be the effort and thought that counts. He didn't have to give you anything so I wouldn't make a big deal about what gift I DID recieve. Financially, he may not have been able to do any better. But I agree with the one eyed thing. If he admitted he saw it at the check out, I would've expected him to take it back and at least get one that wasn't damaged. I guess it would make a bigger difference to me if this was his attitude regarding other occasions. If this is a first, I'd just see how he responds with other occasions. There are lot of people out there that just don't have a thoughtful knack about them. I don't know if that means they don't want it or don't know how to show it.

enable us to benefit some attitude here. whilst it contains presents it is the thought counts, and probably he purely did no longer see something incorrect with it. (he's a guy, in spite of each thing.) and that i doubt very heavily that he have been given it out of the trash. Are you with him because of the fact he grants gives you, or because you care approximately him? attempt and concentration on what's significant. whilst you're jointly a year from now, you will laugh approximately it. circulate to the craft shop and get some felt or something and make the teddy undergo slightly eye patch. call him One-Eyed Jack or something like that and make a shaggy dog tale of it. that's what a grownup might do.

give him the benifit of doubt- men are lazy- in his eyes at least he got you something-in our eyes-why not lose your spot in line to get me a good bear. men and women see things differently and from his point of view-v-day was a success. In the big scheme of things-what is one bear.I really doubt he will go back and try to exchange it,if you want it badly enough-you can do it,although he probably didnt keep the reciept.judge the man-not the present.

I gave my wife a pearl necklace for V-Day.

You'd think she'd have wiped it off by now.

Lighten up. Give him a break. It's a stupid holiday anyway. Is he otherwise a good guy? If so, then forget it.

why is it that you women always complain ?
you all seem to find fault in all that men do which is why I don't even bother with a stupid gift, here's a few bucks, buy what you want so when you're good and bored of it, yell at yourself, that's my motto. You women today are all whiners, get a job !
