I have Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome. Should I worry about not being able to get pregnant. I know I can by use of different drugs and etc but has any women out there had a lot of trouble getting pregnant even with all the medicine and other means? Should I start worrying about trying now at age 26?

I don't think worrying is the best word. The more stressed you (and the hubby) are the more trouble you will have. What are your goals? Do you want children now, or in the next 3-4 years, or anytime in the future? I'm no doctor here, but PCOS has many different symptoms and depending on how sever it is will depend on how hard it will be to get pregnant. But here is what happened to me and 2 friends.

I started late with my first baby at 31 1/2. Our son was a surprise (on the pill), but after him we wanted another right away. It took us 5 1/2 years, with one miscarriage, to get our little girl. We were getting to the point of saying one was all we were going to have, then came DD. No telling what will happen.

A dear fiend of ours has serious endometriosis and was told she would not be able to have children. She has always wanted kids and when she got married they waited about a year and started trying. The pills did not work and she ended up taking the injections and now has a beautiful baby girl. This took about 2 years. BUT when DD was 1 1/2 she got pregnant again, with no intervention. The doctors said this was 'impossible'.

Another friend supposedly could not have children. After everything, pills, injections, in-vitro, they decided to adopt. They were just getting ready to sign the paperwork and she got pregnant (no intervention). Again this was said to be 'impossible'.

We all went through many times asking if this was worth it and why am I doing this to myself. But you have to be true to yourself. Define now what you (and the hubby) will do, how much you are willing to spend and then update this every 6 months to 1 year as you go down your path. Good luck.
