I know White Castle is mostly in the north and Krystal's is mostly in the south, but aren't they basically the same place?

Similar but there are differences.
when I visit my parents I will go 50 miles out of my way to go to a White Castle. At home I will not go across town to get to a Krystals.

Nope, not the same. Some sliders and a Big Red soda pop; yeah thats heaven. Most White Castles, I think, are now in the Eastern U.S. The chain was started in my hometowm of Wichita, KS, but there are no longer any White Castles in the entire state. That pisses me off!!

I don't know anything about Krystal's, but if they serve small, square, patties made with a meat-like substance, with 5 small holes in the patties served on dollar rolls with grilled onions and pickles on them, with that distinctive smell- then YES, they are the same.
White Castles are also legendary for their pungent flatulent affect after consuming.

No, White Castle is much better and even had a movie made about it. Plus you can find White Castle in the freezer section at your local supermarket.

There are differences in the way the burgers are made and dressed but they do have a similar taste and you cannot beat them after a night of hard drinking! No, they are not the same place either.

yea pretty much but i do like white castle a lil better.so does my dad.whenever he drive up north somewhere, he always drives outta the way to go to white castle

Absolutly NOT!!!!!!!!!!!WHITE CASTLES ARE MADE ON A FLAT STAINLESS STELL TOP WITH FLAKES OF DRIED OUT ONIONS THAT YOU ADD a gallon of water to...Also they use spicy brown mustard and steam thier bun by placing them ontop the mini burgers while cooking...Krystals are just plain boring!!! Suggestion: try them in the early a.m. {heehee{
