Go to Google.com and ask whatever you want. For instance you might type in 57 chevy water pump and get all sorts of relevant information. On the other hand I often find the books on car repair useless. They usually start off by telling you to remove the frammitz. If you knew how to get the frammitz off, wou wouldn't need the book.

all garages use a manual which gives exact times taken to complete specific tasks on vehicles to be fair extra time is added in relation to the vehicles age and for siezed parts. reference librarys should have a copy of this publiaction. photocopy the relevant pages for your vehicle. produce these to substanchate claims of overcharging

get a magazine called Car Mechanics it has good articles in there plus a website where you can send your problems about your car and get a reply.
